Engine swap?
I have a 96' 7.3 (needs a lot of help), can a 99' 7.3 be swapped out easily (I have access to a free one)? The 99' is out of a F450 if that makes a difference.

Our trucks have mechanical fuel pumps, while the 99 has an electric fuel pump. You will have to convert to electric as the 99 doesn’t have the lobe on the cam to drive a mechanical fuel pump.
