Had this lovely failure 60 miles from home today so $300 in towing later it should be home. I have a spare engine so I'm just going to pull the bracket with vacuum pump and power steering pump already attached from the other engine. Can I do that with those accessories in place? I only ask because I'd rather not mess with pulling the pulleys to get to the mounting bolts. I haven't made it there to look at it. I see to replace the vacuum pump I need to remove the pulley to get to the bolts but why couldn't I just put studs there and not have to remove them pulley to replace it?
Never thought about studs, it sure will make it easier if you are out on the road.
Sorry to hijack
Anyone have a lead where i can get a complete vacuum pump with pulley installed already?
I have one lol but I'm keeping it. I'm going to get the right sized studs just in case I ever have to install one road side. I just swapped bracket over complete with power steering pump and vacuum pump.
4 10mm bolts holding ac pump on (use piece of pvc pipe across air filter and hoop to hold compressor out of way)
4 13mm bolts holding bracket to block
18mm fitting into the side of the power steering pump which has a nylon washer on threads on it , I didn't replace it and it's not leaking
1 1/2" hose clamp fitting on bottom of power steering reservoir
1 1/2" hose clamp fitting on vacuum pump
tensioner bolt is 18mm and reverse thread
took me a little under an hour to remove from the other engine and swap out the one on this engine.

amazon sells them.
I paid around $120 for mine. Had the pulley attached and bolts already installed behind the pulley. Was super nice.
No issues yet and that was about a year and 15k miles ago.
I bought one from Advance with pulley as well. As for studs, I'm not sure you'd have enough clearance between the pulley and the body. If you have enough stud sticking out to fully engage the nut AND still have room to take the nut off. But if you do I can't imagine why they wouldn't be fine.
I reckon any pump that comes with pulley installed will also have the bolts captive behind they pulley. So as a spare, that sorta defeats the purpose of the studs, since you'd have to remove the studs to use the spare pump.
The one I bought did. I had to get a loaner pulley puller because there was one of the original bolts that was about half rounded off that I couldn't get loose. With the new fresh bolts I was able to install the new pump without removing the pulley. If I had to take it back off now, there's a good chance I could get it off that way too. Of course the engine would have to be cold because it's a bear to get to.
I did the "suitcase mod" to my radiator shroud; primarily for front mounted engine accessory servicing...which means I have replaced my vacuum pump 3 times in the last 60,000 miles...
I replaced that whole assembly vacuum/power steering bracket , then the power steering pump by itself with the shroud in place. And my lpop but I did have to loosen the it for that. I could see where the extra room would help for the power steering pulley installation
