Starting in 1992 all F-series trucks had remote mounted ICM according to all the Ford Wiring diagrams that Ford put out.
Both the EVTM and also the large foldout showed it as remote mounted starting in 1992 but some were remote mounted as early as 1989 with the 460 engine.
My 1993 truck is also remote mounted.
I said trucks.
The 1993 Mustang SVT Cobra R with engine V8 - 5.0L 302ci GAS MFI vin D - 2 valve OHV did use the gray distributor mounted ICM.
That is why the part listings say 93 and older.
But as we are talking about PU trucks here an the 1992 and 1993 are are all remote mounted.
The computer does not control the Ignition system with the SPOUT removed.
Interesting. I plugged in an Actron scanner and noticed that when looking at the data stream, with the spout disconnected the timing was not stable but moving back and forth 3-4 degrees at idle.

The PCM was telling the Ignition (ICM) to move the timing but the Ignition system (ICM) did not get the message. So the timing was still at 10 deg BTDC if you used a timing light.
