I've been having a slight shudder for the past couple of months. Only at low RPMs under load. Once I get to arount 2000 RPM it's fine. Shifts normally, temps staying normal. So, I'm assuming it's the TC getting ready to go. I also know that if it goes, it's gonna take the rest of the trans with it. Here's my dilemma. I'm broke as hell right now, so I'm gonna have to do the replacement myself and going to have to spend as little as possible on the new TC. Any opinions on what and where to get what I need? I run a DP tuner, usually on the 80HP econ setting. I need it to hold up, but also not break me. Thanks for any advice

I doubt that you have a torque converter problem. I think you have an engine miss.
At any point in the throttle, you can have a slight imbalance between load and fuel applied - this is common in aftermarket tunes. When this happens, you get slight "hiccups", and cause no real harm to my knowledge. When I've had this issue, I've had the tuning adjusted to fix it.
Yeah, I spent the whole day researching it all yesterday, then hooked u the AE. looks like it just may be an injector issue. Got 1, 3, and 8 sitting high on the Perdels and codes for 3 and 8. Got a new CPS coming from Riffraff as well as new injector o-rings and will be ohming out the injectors tonight to start with. I bought a used set from a guy a few months ago that came off of a wrecked 84K truck. So will probably end up swapping them out over the weekend. Also ordered an adapter so I can do a compression test while it's apart. Will either give me peace of mind, or really get me stressed. LOL.
Well, I'm assuming that to ohm the injectors, that I'm just checking across the "high voltage" pin and each injector. They are all close. Drivers side all 1.973 and passenger side 1.971. So from what I read, I want them to not only be close, but also close to 3 ohms they all seem far off. Probably should start a new thread for this. Dammit
I have links in my signature that help out. I remember the term now... "bucking". Does the engine feel like a series of "kicks" at low rpms up a slight grade? That would be bucking, and it's a tuning thing. Before grabbing anything bigger than a 10mm flex socket, I would pull the chip to see if that eliminates the "shudder" or bucking.
I also run a DP tuner on my 2003 E350 7.3L 4x4 PSD.
Only recently has it been “bucking” in the lower RPM’s at exactly 40mph and 55mph in all tunes other than “Modified Stock.” Modified stock there’s no “bucking.”
Maybe 1000 miles after that I started getting the TC hunting, which I can visibly see happen on my CTS3, even if Im in the “Modified Stock” tune.
Observations are:
-Bucking slowly started happening over time (assuming tunes don’t go bad over time..?)
-TC lockup hunting started a bit after that
-TC, Trans, diff only 5k miles old
Questions:
-What do I look for on ForScan for TC slipping? Other data to condider?
-Other realistic sensors or things to consider with my situation?
-Why would hunting damage the trans?
-How to tell if it’s the TC, Injectors, or Trans?
