Put in 66 Mustang bucket seats in my 66 F100. I'm looking for a quick console to put in it for now. I'm considering the Humphugger for Broncos, part FBHH6677. Anyone using this? Looking for feedback on fit, height comfort, specific dimensions, etc. Or the Humphugger HHBR6677-01 (which seems to be a larger version of the first, but, no longer available except on ebay?). I will be building me one this winter, just need something for now.
I have this bookmarked also just in case I find one from a Falcon (or a Ranger). I'll find one eventually or build a custom job for the 66. Bum shoulder and then the knee so, building one right now is on the back burner. Currently using a cooler for the console, guess I'll try the Humphugger for now.
If you decide to recondition or fabricate a console where 'flocking', felt type coating. is applied, should be able to locate souce, if not, possibly kept my source. I used the 'flocking' kit on the 64.
Dave - I'll have to Google that. It's hard to tell in the Falcon console rebuild article since it is a black console but there was originally the black felt type coating on the inside surface of the console "glove compartment" as they called it.
Incidentally, I was wondering why the bottom half of this console was a darker Parchment than the lid which is covered with a similar material to the solid portions of the seat covers. Well, that's because the lower half came from the Falcon line and they only offered the Console Panel - the lower piece - in Palomino on the 1964/65 Falcon Sprint Futura and Convertible. They never had a Parchment interior in the 1964/65 Falcon and there was no console available in the 1966 Falcon from what I can see. It's not a huge difference but one of those interesting things they did.
Thanks for the info Chad and Dave. If I find something or build one, I'm having my upholster guy cover to match the interior.
Christmas - Thanks for the pics, pretty much what I'm looking for right now. Haven't seen much on CL in my area.
Here is (one of many) a youtube vid showing some guys repairing, and then flocking a complete dash (out of the car), fairly crude, but it will give you an idea of what's involved.....I just don't know HTH you would ever clean a dash a few months later with that texture??
