Center console

I have captain seats with a separate center console, it looks to be the same as a an excursion center console. If I buy a excursion center console component (the rear of it) will it work with my current center console?

Not sure, but please post back here when you find out for sure. On a side note, you can remove the center console without taking the seats out, I have done it a couple of times now.

Markkuss..look for the Navigator or Expedition console from a captian setup. Them consoles extend to the lower fmdash and fit nicely

I've had Two Excursions, and I'm virtually certain that their consoles are identical with what came in our trucks. In fact, I believe I even still have my old console from my truck from when I replaced it with a brand new one from an '08. I like the HUGE '08 console MUCH better, and it was a perfect fit with one minor exception... you need to remove the two arm rests on the sides of your front seats in order for the larger lid to open completely up.

Go to Post #13 in the thread linked below, and you'll get a peak at what mine looks like.

Dangit Pete!

Is it only the 2008 that fits? I have not clicked on the link you posted yet, so if the answer is there, disregard this question and carry on...

No, I believe the consoles from 08-10 fit, but am not sure about the newer years.

One thing I did with my '08 console was to completely disassemble the cup holder trim and paint it with a flat black paint to hide the shiny chrome finish. The flat black looks much better and has not chipped at all with 9 years and nearly 150K miles of daily driving and daily use!

Pictures of how I disassembled and painted the trim.

Hmmm, do you know if that will fit a ZF6 truck? Looks like it goes up toward the firewall quite a bit.

Found out the back of an excursions center console will bolt into a captain seat with separate center console truck, there’s some screws on the side of the console and you take those out and than push in some tabs.

I’d get one but I have a 6speed, may not be out of the question if I could make a shifter for it

yes, it will fit a zf6 truck. My 99 has one in it along with the complete 09 interior all except dash. Door panels were a little bit of work but they fit. The console is probably one of the best upgrades I’ve done.

If I'm home when there is daylight this weekend I'll try to get a few pictures, I don't drive the truck everyday anymore since I bought the 2011 but can't bring myself to get rid of the old girl. I've even been contemplating putting 2009 console in my 2011, being I like the console so much. The 99 is the second truck I've moved it to.

How do the '08-'10 consoles differ from what you have in the '11? I had suspected that there might have been a change, but have never confirmed it.

My 11 has the middle seat, which lacks storage unless you use the lower seat and that’s a pain to access especially while on the road. The 11 and up console goes all the way forward to the dash which is nice, but even that one is not as big inside as the 08. The 08 console is cavernous inside. You can pack a lot of crap in it.
