Like most I carry a concealed weapon. I have been using rear seats as those some pretty criminal proof. Looking for something a little better. Anyone have any experience with this?
Usually when I am carrying "my little friend" she is in an inside the pants holster. My backup gun however is kept in the hidden cubbie underneath the cup holders in the center console. That way it is hidden, hard to find if broken into, but accessible in an emergency. Something the backseat vault does not offer. Something to think about.
I have two, but I say it's worthless if somebody gets caught in a bad situation; then ...... you have to get into the back to get at your weapon.
Mine is in my drivers side door in a quick release holster, 45 ACP hollow point, chambered and ready. It takes me just about one second to have it pointed where I want to.
Just in case I have "my little friend" in a glasses case. I did keep in my overhead sunglasses console, but it got HOT. I wondered how hot it had to be for the rounds to discharge, not a good thing to happen. It is now hidden in plain view.
Maybe I'm over protective, maybe not. You should see my house weapon distribution!
I am only looking for something for overnight storage or when I have to leave it in my vehicle. Otherwise it fits nicely in the cubby hole by my right leg, ready for quick draw. Thanks Ford! It says uses factory screw holes, but went out and looked and there were none. If it protects the entire console that is an incredibly large amount of secure storage space. I guess for now, I will keep locking under the seat, PITA. Its a shame the lock sucks so bad on the console... you would think ford would do better than that.

I had no idea about the hidden space till you wrote about it. Glad you said something thats neat... but certainly not quickly accessible.
