I will be putting miles on my 2013 5.0 today on a route I know well in the Tn mountains and will see how it goes. I have NOT reinstalled the X4 Tuner yet, thought I would give Ford a chance first. I will update on the shifting later.

You & I both Whats weird is that I have NO abnormal shifting issues. However, I am custom Tuned.

We apologize for this situation and want to assure you that, with your assistance, we will correct this condition. Our commitment, together with your dealer, is to provide you with the highest level of service and support.

What's the issue:
  • Our records indicate that you previously had Ford Safety Recall 19S07 performed on your vehicle; however, the correct software was not installed at that time. Ford Motor Company wants to ensure the software in your vehicle is updated to the correct software.
  • Your vehicle without the correct software remains at risk for unintended transmission downshift due to an intermittent output speed sensor (OSS) failure.

What is at Risk:
  • An unintended downshift into first gear can cause an abrupt wheel speed reduction, which could cause the rear tires to slide until the vehicle speed slows down. This condition could result in loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

The letter then goes on with typical recall letter info.
Exactly the same as mine....

Finally got the notice and had the recall 19S07 done on my '13 Ecoboost Monday. Shifting was a little odd at first but now that it's adapted it's back to the way it was before. No issues here.

Also got the latest PCM loaded and the truck seems to run better when cold. Doesn't miss as bad and seems to get better mileage when cold.

I have been running around on the reflash for a week or so now and I am going to go ahead and load my canned SCT X4 tune today. The tuner really moves the shift points around and the truck does not feel so lazy with the X4 installed. I really have to give it the gas to get it to kick down with the stock setup but it was the same way with my 5.4 F-150 back in the day. I did have a 2nd update on the tuner and it might even be better than before , only time will tell.

Gentlemen, the 1st time I had this re-flash done, I tuned the truck back to stock prior to taking it in.
I am NOT able to tune it back to 100% stock anymore, as it will not run properly anymore (honestly it cant even be driven).

My question is;
Must the truck be on a stock configuration when FORD programs it?

I can place the engine tuning at a stock level. However, I have a JLT Intake & I must at least provision it for that or I won't even be able to drive

SO here is the deal. I went to install my SCT X4 tuner after the 2nd reflash from Ford and guess what . . . It no longer supports my Ford 5.0! Called SCT only to be told that they are "rebuilding" the Tunes to catch up with Fords reflash and it could be weeks before I can use my X4 again on the truck. This sucks.

The recall on the recall-dropped my mpg

Hey there, new guy here.
I see others are having problems with their F-150s, so am I.
I received the first recall notice about the bad software and took the truck in. Didn't notice any difference. Then I received the second recall notice- a recall on the recall. When I took the truck in I was getting 16.5 miles per gallon of gas.
It has been that for weeks, my driving routine stays about the same. Anyway, when I drove the truck from the dealer I noticed my mpg was dropping. By the time I got home after 8 miles of freeway, the mpg was 12.5.
I reset the odometer to monitor mpg on a ten minute average and now it reads 10.5 mpg., and that is after driving 65 miles an hour for 30 miles!! That is ridicules. The dealer is giving me off the wall reasons for this.
BUT we know it is THE DAMN RECALLl!! Who the hell do we contact at FORD to help us deal with this? I have been calling and get nothing.
