Parking Brake

Having a challenge with a vehicle inspection. Can someone confirm if the dash brake light comes on when the parking brake is on? Mine does not and does not appear to have a switch on the pedal

The dash light is for the low brake fluid warning sensor on the proportioning valve block, there is no warning lamp for the parking brake being on (at least not on my '74 F250)

Parking brake warning lamp switches were installed on cars, but no 1979 or older truck, Bronco or Econoline came with them.

NO the instrument cluster red legend "BRAKE" light does NOT come on when the parking brake is applied. X2 it is ONLY A WARNING LIGHT if you have a brake line/system failure with a major fluid loss of the master cylinder. And that loss of fluid caused the floating piston in the Combination/Proportional/Pressure Differential valve to move. Correct nothing switch wise on the park brake pedal. You should have a switch up under there on the brake pedal, but it is the brake light switch.

I bet your vehicle inspectors are young.
