So my 2000 Ex started showing the parking brake light as if the parking brake was on...however it is not. Anyone run into this? How, or what do I need to do to fix it?
The rubber stopper on your brake pedal arm can pop out and that leaves a hole that the switch fits nicely through. But like Tom said.... check you fluid heh heh.
Check out the rubber stopper, it gets smashed up and doesn't press the switch. you can also unplug the connector at the switch to see if the light goes out.
I think your return e-brake spring is getting weak and won't allow the rubber bumper to push in (engage) the off switch. With you hand engaging the brake release, work the e-brake pedal up and down one inch from off (all the way up). Does the pedal return tight up against the switch on it's own? See pic.
