Brake pulsating when slowly stopping 7.3 f350 dually 4x4
I have a situation with my 99 f350 dually 7.3 4x4. When im stopping especially in a turn (like parking spot) the pedal pulsates. I almost hit a fence at work, worried i wont be so lucky next time. I put my whole weight on the pedal....it rolled approx 3 feet further than i wanted it to go. There is also a crunchy sound. I have owned the truck for two years. Previous owner said he disconnect the abs on the front. Abs Light comes on usually after rain. The front end was rebuilt when i got the truck (new everything) Brakes have 15kmiles on them.
If the abs is disconnected, can the abs sensor still cause problems?
First of all, I'd reconnect the ABS...
Second, does your power steering whine?
It may be time for you to flush the powerboost system (supplies power assist to both steering and braking)
I just went outside to check if they were disconnected....are they were not, they were connected...
You will definitely lose brakes if you have a problem in your power steering as was suggested earlier. I would start with a flush it did wonders on mine. https://www.superdutypsd.com/power_steering_flush.php
Could be cruddy fluid, bad pump or Hydro boost
If you have the previous owners information I would call him and see what he did. You should not be getting ABS lights.
Im actually taking the truck to a shop that strickly does front end, suspension, brakes, tires, shocks, etc.....on friday......is this something that would be in their wheel house?
