Hello, I have a 2001 F350 SD Powerstroke CC 4x4 with 156,000 miles. The power steering pump has been whining REALLY badly for awhile, so I finally got around to changing the pump. Problem solved. No more noise. The next day, I was driving the truck and after about 100 miles, the ABS light comes on. When you crank the truck, the light illuminates and goes off, as the 4x4, 4x4 Low, oil, etc do when you start the truck. The light then comes back on and has been on constantly. I know the ABS isnt functioning, as I was in some rain the other day and slid a nice pretty and luckily straight line at a red light I was stopping for. Is it possible that somethign happend with the PS pump change? I know the hydraboost brakes are tied to it, so.... Also, the brake pressure switch on the master cylinder was noted to be leaking, it had a large accumilation of oily dirt on it so I wiped it clean so I can tell if it is leaking brake fluid or not. Could it be this switch? Also, the speedometer and transmission appear to be fine, so I do not think it is the differential speed sensor.

HELP!!

 

Have the ABS code read, it might tell you specifacally where problem is. ABS codes generally can only be read by the high end scanners.
