Factory Combo Valve Location

I'm putting a 77 combo proportioning valve in a 68. However, I can't squeeze it in the framerail and am looking for a new spot to place it. Where is the factory location for a proportioning valve on a 77 truck? Does anyone have a picture of the valve sitting in the truck?

There were TWO different valves used in 1977, which one are you using?

It's an F100 so it should be the second of the two (D5TZ-2B257-B)

Location varied by years/vehicles, here are two examples.

See 2B257 in upper/lower pics:

Since you're swapping trucks too, you're likely making your own brake lines? If so then you can pretty much put it wherever you want that makes sense. A lot of them are now mounted on brackets attached to the master cylinder. Keeps them up and out of the way of everything else, including exhaust heat.
Not sure what location makes the most sense on your truck, but knowing the sky is the limit (almost) might actually help you narrow down the hunt.

Good luck!
And definitely let us know where you end up putting it for future reference.
I changed mine out to a manually adjustable on on the Bronco, Have been thinking of doing the same thing to my F350 because it (presumably) needs a new one anyway.

Thanks for the reply here everyone. I've been busy with the swap and haven't had time to post. Yea I ended up making all new brake lines. I ended up putting the combo valve in the factory location on the engine crossmember near the steering box.

So here's where it ended up:

However I think it may be shot. I started another thread in the 67-72 section: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...fter-swap.html
