The driver info display on my 2017 F350 is a bit too dim. It does NOT change brightness with the dash light control. I never had any trouble reading the same display on my 2012 F150, even with sunglasses on, but not so with the F350. I searched the manual and googled the hell out of the topic, but can't find any way to do it. Can the dealer reprogram the brightness setting?
Did it use to work? I generally find that I have to turn down the lighting in most all vehicles, this is no exception. I get a display when the brightness buttons are pushed and there is a noticable difference + or -. One thing that has happened on mine, is not staying at the last setting. I'll turn it down but then the next time I drive it's all the way up.
Are you saying that the gauge cluster screen does not get brighter with the +/- brightness button by the headlight switch? Does your truck have any other symptoms , such as the navigation map having the evening background instead of daytime? Check to make sure your rear view mirror light sensor isn’t obstructed by anything.. I’ve had a dealer place their RFID sticker on the backside of the rear view mirror covering up the light sensor

The instrument cluster changes fine using the dimmer as it should. But, the driver info display in the center does no change. The brightness stays constant and it's too dim for me. I had no problems with the same display in my F150. I don't remember if the F150 dimmer controlled the driver info display or not, just that I never had any trouble reading it. No other symptoms except that the truck won't automatically disconnect from the connected trailer when it is disconnected from the in bed 7 pin outlet. It still thinks it is connected and the trailer mileage continues to accrue and the display defaults to the towing page on startup. I have to manually tell it no trailer is connected. It senses when the trailer gets connected, just doesn't sense it is no longer there..
I'll check the rear view mirror light sensor if I can find it. Thanks.
Is this with your headlights on during the day? I believe the cluster may be brighter with the headlights off than at full brightness with them on. (But I didn't go outside to check )

On mine, select SETTINGS (the little gear), then swipe right to get the DISPLAY, then select BRIGHTNESS. Mine is turned nearly all the way down and its still way too darned bright.
Adjusting the dash lights on mine will change the brightness of the Sync screen. I wish it was otherwise, but my screens do adjust togetehr.
Hi, I'm talking about the 2 x 3 rectangle in the instrument cluster in front of the steering wheel, not the SYNC3 display in the middle of the dash. The screen I'm talking about is the one where you can select fuel mileage, trailer options, etc and where it tells you if you are driving with your door open, your DEF is low, etc. like the attached image.
Strange. Mine is also a 2017 F350 XLT crew cab and it doesn't do anything when I turn the dimmer up or down. Only the lights in the gauges go bright or dim.
The pic I show is from 2015 because I couldn't find a 2017 pic right away. it's close and shows the position of the display screen I'm talking about.

That's odd, I dont believe that's true with mine. The sync3 screen has it's own brightness adjustment through its display menu and is usually way too bright for me. What I hate most is at night, when I park turn the headlights off and it switches to obnoxiously bright.
