If the new shaft comes with all u joints, get the new one. Unless you can cut and weld the new yoke on. The shaft should be balanced after the new yoke is welded on.
Do you have a drive shaft shop local would be the bigger factor. Also is that eBay part used or new? Is it good quality parts or China trash?

I'd check eBay for NOS. I just purchased one for mine and it has all Spicer joints. The part number you will need for a ZF is F1TZ-4A376-C. That's the Ford service part# from TSB 97-13-22.
