I have never seen such heavy duty gear to hold a cell phone LOL. I use a $19 Skosche suction cup mount to my windshield and it survives PA roads (aka surface of the moon-like).
What are you guys using for phones or roads that need mounts like that?

Which gear are you referring to. The last one posted was mounted in his Polaris SXS so its definitely needed. The other mounts are pretty basic.
Made some progress on this today. Bought the wrong add a fuse though. I thought I needed mini but they are all micro .😪
I got you beat; I ordered a ten pack of the mini off Amazon. I figured they'd be useful
Here is how I hooked mine up to the dash tray. I really like that Ram ball to Garmin ball adapter. It would have saved me some dough over the XL X-Grip.
I got mine mounted today. With the exception of the bolt, I had all the items on hand from previous projects. I'd suggest anyone else that is going to use the Ram through ball mount to get a selection of bolts in varying lengths to see which one you like. I wound up using a 50 mm long one, with nuts and washers as shims, to space it out from the handle.
Did you remove the A-Pillar cover to run the wire, or did you tuck it under the weatherstrip?
I can only imagine what the side airbag is going to do to that in an accident. It will probably destroy your phone so you can't use it to call 911.
Just a thought...

I posted this in the other thread. judge for yourself.
I agree might knock the phone out. I don’t see it being a safety issue beyond that.

Yeah, I agree it's not really a safety issue to the driver...but if your phone gets broke because of it, you may not be able to call 911 right away if you or someone else is injured. That's all I was saying. Chances are slim, but it's there.
Has anyone found a way to split the usb in the cubby forward of the center console lower part of the dash? I want to put my phone on a mount like section179 but be able to connect with sync.
