Since I am running the '08 pan and filter (and I've checked a bit up in the 6.4 forum now and then as to what they are doing), I'm going with the 60K pan filter interval, and doing some 8-9qt dump and fills with the TP filter up front in between. I've vacillated from 20 - 30K on the intermediate changes. Truck doesn't see as hard use as it once did, and the miles are building at a snails pace, so probably 25-30K (I'll probably be changing oil with CJ when you guys are on CP!) Oh, and I don't ever plan to flush it...

So they went to a 60K interval on the newer pan and filter?
But ..... if you have the TP filter you need to keep the TP filter. One tech did a flow study and found that with an empty housing the flow was altered in the cooling pathway.

Good catch Jack - yes I meant they went to 60K service on the '08+ transmissions. We 6.0s need to keep the TP filter, even if it is completely clogged... Thanks for clarifying...
Scott
I see so many posts from folks that don't even have the transmission on a regular schedule. Many people go 100k miles. I certainly am not advocating that but I have often wondered how conservative is the 30k interval.

I'm thinking very conservative as most folks are doing flushes, when isn't the 30K service a: dump the fluid in the sump and change the TP filter and refill? Have to dig out my manual, but that's what I thought it was. This whole flushing thing has gotten lots of air-time over the years...
When I did mine I updated to to 08 pan and filter along with a new TP filter. I ended up using 3 to 4 gallons to flush the trans per the cold flush procedure, and the rest to top off on the refill.

I think MAX-Life is available in 5 gallon amounts
Is 3 gallons enough for the flush-thru?
I was just going to do the "flush" using 3 gallons, and when it's just about gone, stop it and put it all back together.
When I did mine I had for 6 gallon bag. I put about 3 gallons or so in a 5 gallon bucket and pump all that thru the transmission. While I was doing that I had the cooler return line disconnected and flushed the the cooler. I then buttoned up the new pan and filter and topped of with fluid. Then continued flushing another gallon or so out the return line. Then I installed the new TP filter and topped off again. I used a total of 25 quarts.
