I've never had the capability to monitor very many parameters at once but with this x4 I can display several at the same time. But I have no real idea what it's telling me. What are some normal readings I should be looking for? I know batt voltage is 13+ ficm should be 48, and eot and ect. But what about icp? Ipr? Ebp? From what I gathered from a quick search of the forum my ebp reading is about 100 too high. I rarely see it below 100. But I don't know what that's telling me. Vgt is another pid it displays but I haven't the slightest idea what it means. Sorry for sounding like a newb but I've never had access to this kind of data before and need enlightened!
Key On Engine Off (KOEO) compare readings MAP Baro, & EBP. They should all be very close, around 14.5 near sea level. At idle, the EBP will be about 2.5 psi higher now in comparison.
Exhaust Back Pressure is basically the drive pressure to the turbo. If EBP sensor matches the other sensors KOEO, but is really high at idle or while driving I'd suspect exhaust restriction like a clogged cat or something. Or atleast that's where I'd start.
For you I'd first compare those readings KOEO described above. If the EBP is way off I'd check again with FORSCAN & not trust an X4 for reading data & codes. If it is high I'd remove it and check again plugged in. While it's off clear the tube with a piece of weedwacker trimmer line. If still high, faulty sensor.
OBDII adapter bluetooth, WiFi, or USB all work depending on what you are using. Bluetooth I use for my Android stuff. WiFi i use sometimes for the phone but also laptop.
I got them from Amazon. Read the reviews as most will tell you what they're using it for and if it works. I bought mine years ago and don't have a link for them.
So koeo ebp and map are .8" apart. As soon as the truck starts ebp jumped to 120. It's getting a new oil cooler this week so while it's all apart I will pull the sensor and tube and clean them out. I'll update with the results.
