'03 Excursion. I replaced the factory fogs with LED pods, tied into the factory wiring to the fog light switch. I thought I was going to do the "bambi mod" to be able to run the LEDs and high beams at the same time, but apparently Ford moved all the relays to some sort of sealed module that isn't easily hackable.
So now I'm looking for a solution. I can always wire the LEDs to their own switch, but I like a factory-looking dash and wanted to use the fog light switch. Is there any way to bypass this "safety feature"?
Thanks I have been trying to decide what to go with
I had them kicking around so I just threw them on. If you're looking for good results from a simple set of pods, I'd go for something with better optics.
I just installed a kit sold by RiffRaff called The Brite Box, which allows you to have the high beams come on at the same time as the fogs. I also have LED fog lights in the place of the factory fogs, and with the Brite Box I can use the factory fog light switch to turn on all the lights all at once. I did the upgrade to the 05-07 lights at the same time, which I am very pleased with the extra light!
