Is there any way to get the fog lights to stay on when I turn the brights on. They are the factory lights.
I ask because I want to replace them w/ driving lights and use the factory switch and wiring.
It'll give info from the users here that have done it, as well as, users from F-D.com.
I hardwired mine directly to the parking lights. They are on all the time. (Well, when the switch is on, anyway...) Because of that I doubt that I'll ever need my brights again.
Check out this box. It's a lot easier to install than all that splicing.
<editted by moderator: The website for the Brite box was removed. it was done simply because it is available here at the online store. Thanks for your understanding!>
The Brite Box is sold right here at the online store.
Will it keep your fogs on, too? I know that it will keep both the lows and highs on when the highs are activated. Seems logical that it would now that I "say" it...
My fog lights stay on when I turn my high beams on. I have a 2000 SD, and fog weren't an option, so I bought the the fog lights out of the SuperDuty accessories catalog. The dealer installed them, and they installed them so the high beams stay on WITH the fogs on.
The mod is dead easy.
Pull the switch out of the dash, you can do it from the fuse access pannel
Then buy the blue connectors that cut into both wires.
Hook a jumper wire to the brown wire then the other end to the white w/ black stripe.
It takes about 5 min.
Qiuck question. I ordered the bright box or what ever you call it. Now do I need to undo the mod I made? Will is put to many volts on the line?
I want as much light as possible I was going to replace the stock fogs w/ driving but if I can run both beams and stock fog lights I should have plenty of light.
OK I put the bright box in and it gives a lot more light well worth the$99.
If you just want the fog on with the high beams the jumper mod is easyer and cheaper.
Instalation is easy but the conectors are to short to let you use a better mounting location. PSD guys should have an easier time with the second battery. The box plugs into the hedlight and needs to be mounter under hood. I removed the bat and screwed it to the radiator support. All hardware is included.
