I normally frequent the 6.4 diesel forum and occassionally the Super Duty forum. I have a question for you F-150 folk today.
I'm always unhappy that drivers leave their fog lights on in clear weather.
A guy told me today that the F-150 does not have a separate switch for its fog lights, but that they're always on with the low beams. Can this be true?
My '08 F-350 has a fog light switch, as did a '95 Contour I used to own.
Thanks

Reason: typos
He is incorrect. I believe the switch is basically the same as you would have in a SD with factory fogs. Rotates for parking lamps and headlamps. And pulls out for fogs.
This really ticks me off too. I really hate the ones with aftermarket fog lights that are aimed way too high and the idiot leaves his high beams on when coming at me too. I'm half tempted to go be a cop again and volunteer for night duty just to bust idiots like that.
Another thing that really irritates me is people that use their daytime running lights in the snow, rain and even at night. I almost hit some nut yesterday in a little white rice burner while I was pulling out of my road in the snow. his daytime lights were so dim from being covered with ice I never saw him till it was almost too late.
Daytime lights don't activate the headlights or the taillights and people need to use their brains more when driving in bad weather. Headlights on are the law in most states too when your wipers are on or when it's snowing, raining or dark. Daytime running lights don't count.
Fog lights are manually turned on by turning the light switch all the way to the left --- Auto mode -- and pulling the switch out. Indicator light will come on when fog lights are on. I know of no fog lights that come on and off automatically.
