If I had a choice I would go with the 8mm wires.
Now let it be known you wire holders my not work with 8mm wires, to thick to fit in the slots.
As for brand I don't think I would go for a no name brand but also not the top $$ one as I am cheap

Converting the points on my 73 F250 highboy 360 to electronic, which plug wires would work the best, 7mm or 8mm ? and brand name , Thanks
Have you considered doing HEI it will get you away from the points? Comes in large cap or small. I have been using the large cap on my FE builds. Also recommended using 8mm made in usa wires made by Packard wire. CLICK HERE
Here's what I ordered a while back. They've done well for me with no issues and its a heck of a deal considering retail prices. The "Damaged Product" was only a damaged box that the wires came in.

If you do something that increases secondary voltage (not just an electronic switching), I'd use the 8mm. I chose the MSD 8.5mm Super Conductor wires. They are a bit pricey. If cost is important, you can find less costly wires. Their low resistance appealed to me. As mentioned, if you do the 8mm, you'll likely have to modify or change the wire holders. Wires come in different colors. MSD uses red & black. Distributor terminals vary; be sure to get the ones for your cap. Spark plug terminals also vary; again get the ones that suit your situation best. Some sets are ready for installation as purchased; some require trimming the length and installing one of the terminals. There are lots of choices; shop around.
