360 Degree Camera Issue?

This is happening at random when I go into reverse, then when shifting back towards Park when I stop in Neutral, I will see this image appear on the Sync 3 screen. I was told it is indicating there is an issue with the 360 Degree Camera, however that is very vague. Has anyone else had this happen on their Super Duty? I am just puzzled here, as I still see the full 360 Camera view when reversing, so everything appears to be working ok, just this annoying warning that pops-up. It does not throw any codes, so it makes it all that more difficult to troubleshoot. The truck has been in a few times to get checked and no problems have been found related to this yet. The pic below shows I am connected to Apple CarPlay, but this really does not matter as this will happen even when I am not connected to Apple CarPlay.

I have went around the truck quite a few times and checked and cleaned all the cameras, however this does not seem to make any difference. I have never noticed that any of the cameras were blocked or such with dirt or snow and ice.

Wow. Well, whether anyone else has had the issue, man, it's a 2019. Get it back to the dealer. Use that warranty.

I did say that it has been in a few times, apologies if I was not really clear in meaning it has been back to the dealer multiple times and no luck thus far. ;-).

I had some crazy things happening where the rear wiring harness was replaced along with some other stuff. That cured all my other gremlins, but this one keeps popping up. It does not appear to be connected in any manner to all the other issues the truck had that were fixed with that replacement. With No codes it makes it that much harder to troubleshoot.

Was hoping someone else here might have had a similar issue, that could hopefully help me out here in sorting this out.

It's all of those people who called you working against you. 23 missed calls/voicemails would wear me out but I'm in sales and those calls are money.

I have not had this happen. Have you tried to activate the cameras via the camera button on the dash? I'm just curious if that works as intended.
Also I'm unsure of your process. If you are reversing and moving towards park how did you stop in Neutral?
Have you updated to latest software version of Sync? Have you updated your phone to the latest software version? Sometimes these programs won't play nice if they aren't updated.
You mentioned no codes and I assume that is at the dealer correct?
I wonder if you scanned it with forscan would it show anything?
One other thing to check. On the camera settings screen there is a delay you can set to where the camera will stay on for so many seconds after you shift out of reverse. If that is on try turning that off and see if that corrects the issue. That delay could be causing some issues possibly?
Keep us posted. This is exactly the kind of weird one off gremlin I run into. Best of luck and look forward to your updates.

Thanks for the reply!

As I have been dealing with this issue for over 2 months now, I felt like I was crying wolf to the dealer as they could never replicate this particular problem and each time it has been in, there has been no codes found when the hooked it up to their computer to scan for codes, that would even be remotely related to this.

I would see a momentary flash of this image occasionally when I would shift from D to R. We later figured out it was flashing on the screen as I went over Neutral. Placing the shifter in Park did not display this image, same with any other selection, other than Neutral. When it is doing this, I can shut the truck off completely, restart it and this problem will still be there 9 times out of 10. Not sure what makes it go away, it just starts working normally all by itself.

Sync is fully updated, it has been reflashed twice now and this problem is still happening. Nobody believes this has anything to do with Sync, it is just the truck displaying this error on the screen. I am having a ton of other issues with the Sync system and I am pretty sure they are going to finally replace the APIM unit, that is a whole other story. Reason I am using CarPlay is due to the Sync system not working for voice commands and such, it keeps doing crazy things, however Apple CarPlay allows me to make phone calls and such without a problem. This problem is not related to my phone being connected to this, as the problem will happen with or without the phone connected by Bluetooth or the USB connection.

Who knows, maybe this might fix it as I have had so many crazy things go wrong with this truck, nothing would surprise me now. All my problems started with the 20 pin connector in the main wiring harness at the rear of the truck, having a corrosion issue, that did some really, really bizarre things.

We have played with all the camera settings and nothing prevents this from happening, including the delay setting which is currently not enabled. When it does happen, all the cameras and various views are working fine. With it being random, that makes it even more difficult to pinpoint.

My dealer has said it is a warning stating the 360 Degree Camera system has a problem. I cannot find anything in the Owner's Manual that shows anything like this for a system warning and the dealer has never had anyone report anything like this, nor have they ever seen this particular warning first hand themselves. So with all the cameras working, even when it shows this error image on the screen, and the truck not recording any faults, not much can be done here. Ford does not want to just start replacing all the cameras, when they are all working, which makes this even more frustrating. The truck will be going back into the dealer again, but not sure what the overall plan is here. I will be meeting with them this week to discuss options here.

p.s. I just clued into how you figured out the 23 calls/voicemails - been a long day LOL. With Sync 3 acting up, especially with voice commands and my phone, Those calls are possibly money to me as well for my business, and CarPlay has been my only option for now. I am just at my wit's end here, as I have only had a handful of days in the nearly 3 months I have owned this truck, where something has not gone wrong on a daily basis. Mechanically this truck is awesome, all the electrical / electronic issues are beginning to take their toll on me.
As I said, maybe I will get lucky if they finally replace the APIM unit and it miraculously fixes this other issue. ;-)

My vote would be for Ford to replace both your APIM and IPM (360 camera module). Possibly your rear main harness connector issue caused these modules to 'fry'.

I tend to agree with you here and thanks for the reply. I believe they are leaning towards the APIM definitely being replaced and are going to explore how other systems might have been impacted with any of the electoral peculiarities that were happening as a result of the main wiring harness plug corrosion issues.

I’m having a more severe but similar issue with my brand-new 2022 platinum!
After driving it off the lot brand new, I had turned on my bed cam (now you can drive with it on to check the load)
It lasted about 5 minutes then it started flickering like the cable was lose wile I was slowing down for a red light, soon as I release the brakes the video cam back for a minute or so then started up until it turned off and said camera unavailable contact dealer! Now if I back up I get a blue screen and nothing happens when I hit the cameras button!
I ran a test on the APIM module with FORScan and got a message saying “General electrical failure”

My best guess is the brake light wire is crossed and fried the APIM or that was just weird timing and it’s a faulty module! The plan is to take it in on Tuesday wile I’m gone for a week but something tells me with all the shortages I’m not going to see a replacement module for months?

Thoughts? Also where is the physical APIM module located? I wanted to check to make sure it’s not just a lose plug/wire

2022 F350 platinum 6.7 (custom order with almost a year wait!)
