the issue is that the 2011-2012 will work in 2011-2016 models. The 2013+ models have some level of changes. This is why myself and others recommended you get a 2011-2012 cluster for your swap. A few of us got newer clusters and the wouldn’t work. I got a 2014 for my 2014 and it would boot up and constantly reset every 10 seconds.
you might want to put the old cluster back in and reconfirm everything is good. Maybe reload the original config. If that’s good then I’d swap out to the nicer cluster and just leave it
ok...5 months later, I have not done the as built restore, and don't think I have to. Everything works, except for the directional letters near the outside temp. The old console would show NW, N, NE, etc when driving....is there anyway to get this working? Right now I have 2 little lines.

I don’t think you can. If I recall correctly, the 2011-2012 superdutys had the compass in a different place than the 2013-2016. So I think that’s why the compass won’t work. I could never get mine to work either.
