Do any of you guys have goats? Somebody randomly asked me if I knew anyone who raised goats. They want them for food. They're not looking for a pet. Apparently in some cultures, they cook whole goats for their celebrations. Restaurant down the block from me serves suckling. Crazy expensive. I'm thinking that I should find someone who raises pigs, and try to buy the suckling direct from the farmer. I've got a BBQ in my back yard.
Started raining here late afternoon right around 4PM. We got about 1.2" before midnight, and another 1/10" after midnight.
There is a place in Pescadero called Harley Farms. They make goat cheese, and so tend to have a lot of female goats that they need to keep making pregnant, but don't need very many males to keep the goat-milk conveyor going. They are always looking for places to take the unwanted male goats. People around here pick them up for grass clearing, but I bet they would work for food as well. We also have a few neighbors who have picked up some of those goats, but those are now "pet status"...
Happy Humpeth Day all. Well, it was supposed to start raining last night, and then rain all day here, but so far, no rain. However, it is cloudy and looks like it will start soon.
We only got about 1/10" before midnight yesterday, then zippity doo-dah between midnight and about 8AM. Only about 5/100" since then, but it appears to be picking up. Weekend is looking shight and briny though.
No goats around my ranch, last one we had ended up on my old work truck , ate everything in site, and farted more than a heard of women , I know people who do own goats , funny they all say the same thing bwaaaaaa.
had a nice thunder storm roll through with a douceing of hell or was it hail it’s rainning again .
We got about 1/3" yesterday (about half that just before midnight), and another 1/10" this morning just after midnight. Sky is mostly clear and blue with a few fluffies around the edges. Looks like it's going to be a poster card day. I'm in!
