It was very nice and bright up here. From PV, you are mostly just seeing the north side of Black Mountain. We are at least a couple miles south of that; between the coast and Black Mountain. It REALLY dried out here yesterday, I presume because of the breeze and relatively low humidity. In the latter part of the afternoon, we had to make an errand run up the peninsula, and it seemed pretty nice there too.

I had the air conditioning on today. Weather person on local television advised that we are heading towards 70 for the weekend. But that's a general guess. Since even in The City, every neighborhood has a microclimate.
Even though the OAT was only around 50 today, we had the front blinds open (they face to the west). When the sun started streaming in that front room got up to 74. No furnace required.
I think we just had the hottest day this year in The City. The dashboard read 72, as per the Outside Air Temperature sensor. Hard to believe that with this heat, we are expecting more rain.

Not doing much either today, except spend time with the grand daughter, play World of Warships, Farming Simulator 19, and maybe American Truck Simulator later tonight.
Cousins from The Central Valley came to spend time in The City. I envy all that fresh fruit that everyone has growing in their yards. Yeah, we have trees out here too. But with the cold weather, the fog, and the salt in the air from The Ocean; nobody that I know ever has a good batch of fruit.

Yeah but... I'm a heat wimp, and I mean that. I start whimpering when the OAT hits 80, and above that I turn into a puddle of sweat. Give me the cooler temps any day. You can always throw on a sweater or a coat.
We’re in full bloom right now , peach, plum, Cherry, Amond, blood oranges are dropping along with lemon and naval Oranges , this years Apracot tree if it don’t produce it’s gone , too many years of watching it bloom , grow a marble size fruit then drop everything but leaf, not sure what’s going on , plenty of bees pollinate the whole orchard maybe time for fishin moshion or some kind of fertilizer.its suppose to rain again Tuesday , I don’t think what fruit it has now will make it. Other than that chasing electrical gremlins in the Hog hauler , passengerside windows not working , found out this morning the rear window most likely motor related , the front is mind boggle , that I could see in the door boot , no broke wires , I do have power to all window switches , I ordered a new drivers switch panel ( any day now) but thinking passenger switch is bad too.

That is why I live in The City. 55 degrees Fahrenheit is perfect for me. I've lived in a lot of other climates. This is what I prefer. North-East was too cold, too much snow, and the crazy wind drove me nuts. . South-West desert - I figured out real fast that I did not want to live in the desert. Too much rain in the Pacific North-West. I didn't care for Southern racism. And it was just a little too hot for me in the Deep South. Tropical storms & hurricanes along The Gulf Coast weren't a whole lot of fun. Mid-West is tornado country. I'll stay right here, waiting for the Ocean to flood and wash us away, or we'll fall into the Pacific Ocean after the next earthquake.

You're a commercial grower. Not just some guy with a random tree. Don't you have a horticulturist that you can call about that kind of stuff?

SACRAMENTO COUNTY MASTER GARDENER CATHRYN RAKICH: Apricots produce pink or white flowers in early spring – February into March – followed by blushing orange fruit in May. Most apricot trees begin to produce fruit the second or third year after planting, but substantial bearing does not start until the fourth or fifth year.
I've got a lemon, kumquat, plum, peach, loquat, and avocado in my yard. I've only seen peaches. And if I'm lucky, the birds, insects, and wild animals don't get them before I do. Sometimes there's leaf curl. My lemon sounds like your apricot. But this year, there's one fantastic lemon. ONE! A whole tree, and 1 beautiful fruit. I got plum a few years in a row, then the tree stopped producing. All of them flower. Plenty of birds & bees. But I've never seen an avocado, loquat, kumquat, or more than the ONE lemon I got this year. Snow peas mysteriously appeared once. A pepper tree came out of nowhere, gave great peppers for a few years, then died off. A couple of grocery store carrot tops grew up to 6+ feet, flowered, and I'm waiting to see if the seeds germinated. Mustard greens and potato consistently produce, but that's nothing to brag about. Last year, I got a great batch of Kabocha Squash. The real mystery, thus far, is the fig tree. It is the only thing in my yard that always gives great fruit. We get beautiful figs. The best, sweetest figs. 2 years ago, a neighbor of mine had corn. Weird what grows and does not grow in The City. San Francisco was never known for farming, like San Jose. My neighborhood gets a lot of wild flowers, but I don't care because I can't eat them. I have a friend who always comes over to harvest my wild Calla Lily. They are suppose to be expensive.
Happy Monday all.
We had an apricot tree in our front yard when I was growing up. Produced fruit every year. Bugs, and birds got about half of them, but by the time we were done, we didn't want to eat another apricot until the following year.
