March Chat Thread

March is here!!
Steady making out of the winter months, it was not real cold this year but glad when it gets a little warmer. and a lot less rain!

I redid the AC in the mom in-laws SUV last spring and it was super cold when I got done. I am sure the suburban will be the same way. My wife likes to lay down in the 3rd row seat and take a nap when we are on the highway, so keeping her comfortable is a must ! I got the end of month reports done with no issues, had to shake some of the rust off doing the computer stuff. 4 weeks from now I hope to be south of Atlanta and steadily heading south for a much needed vacation.

The oil change on the Benz wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, a lot easier than the Maserati. Both have belly pans but the Benz uses all the same bolts and it is plastic and comes out in 3 pieces. The Maserati is plastic but uses a combo of different fasteners and comes out in 2 big pieces. Both take over 9 qts of oil. Everything you take to a retailer is expensive now, tire balance, alignments you name it.

almost 40 percent of the house is complete. we had some good weather here last week or so and I was able to do a bunch to the dodge.

Then, it got stupid cold, so the interior house work is getting done.

I also showed up to my custom part time finally. Helped to finish the rebuild on the rear of a true 57 chebby 2door. Built to the 9s to be a good drag car. We get to finish all metal, panel work and paint.

next im on a 55 for full tear down. then back on the 67 gto

I interviewed and started the process of hiring a guy that just got off active duty from the Army. I am going to start him off working on mowers and learning 2 cycle stuff. We had a Gator come if from the local college that had been to 2 of our other stores for repairs and they were not happy with it. We fixed it right, delivered it to them and had them test drive it before we left it. They were so happy with it that they loaded up one of their other Gators they had and had us bring it back to the shop to get fixed. Business is slowly starting to pick up, especially the lawn mower side.

The sensor came for the Benz yesterday and the everything for the AC for the Suburban should be in by the middle of next week. Now I need a long dry weekend to get everything done before vacation.

The oil change is what was priced stupid 65.00 the tire roation was only 20.00. I should have the Mazda on the road in a few days. Just need to get the taillights. Can not really find away to attach the stock one to the frame. Have not decide what wood to use for the flatbed. I have enough pine 1 x 6 cut that I could use. They are true 1x 6 not the nomial .75 x5.5.
Jacob glad to hear thing are going good for you.

Ok so I was pushing it.
If I get my tool box from Carterville this week I might just go to the shop on a Sunday and work on them one at a time there inside the building. The daughter has a job now so she may have to drive the Suburban one day so I can get hers done.

another cold day. Going to paint the hall, and the master bath. Finish out the dining area with the remining drywall and plugs and odd n ends junk.

Once thats done, we start scraping the bedrooms ceilings and ill start preparing for the floor and crown molding.

its the small stupid stuff I have to do, like swapping fixtures, plugs and switches. On to the better and updated junk right?

Got out to the land today. Got the 4x4 for the crossmembers for the Mazda cut. Instead of dragging them home once I get taillights I drive it out there.
sounds like we are all busy with projects

I got the ambient air temp sensor put in the daughters car before she left for work. We went shopping and we got the wife and son some clothes a few more things for the trip. I bought a headrest DVD player for the Suburban to try and keep little man entertained while on the road. The dryer and the orifice tube arrived yesterday so now just waiting on the compressor. I got in to move the Maserati so I could work on the daughters car and I smelled 90wt gear oil. No leaks under the car on the concrete so I have to find out whats going on under there. It always seems to be something.

busy bodies stay alive.
Hallway and master bath were painted today. I have all the fixtures for the hallway/dining room/master bath except for the vanity. Ill have to do the vanity when the floor gets done.

Did some digging in my circuit panel, and Ill have to cut power to half the house to do the electrical work so I will wait till a really bright day. Today was cloudy and the inside of the house was dark. Imagine no lighting to do any work.

I downloaded the Lyft app today so we can get a Minnie van at Disney. I was going to suprise the wife but it’s less than 20 bucks to take us from the resort to animal kingdom. They are polka dotted mini vans like Minnie Mouse just something different and memorable. I told the wife we were leaving on the Thursday after work, I am sure the boss will let me off a little early so I can get a big chunk of the drive out of the way before we stop for the night. I so can’t wait for vacation time

When they first started the Minnie vans it was a flat fee but last night I found out now it has now changed to a per mile charge. For the 3 of us it's $11.50 one way from the Shades of Green to the Animal Kingdom. They have a bus for free but they don't run as much as regular Disney busses. To get to the Magic Kingdom we just walk across the street and hop on the monorail at the Polynesian. I bought another ipad with cell service on Saturday since it was nasty yesterday I spent some of the day downloading all the apps I need on it. I bought a heavy duty otterbox cover to keep it from getting messed up incase little man drops it. My son can watch his learning apps on one and the wife can play cards on the other. They should have more than enough stuff to keep them occupied on the ride down.

Jacob is not playing around on the house, I'm not that energetic right now.

Time changed this Sunday, I'm so glad it will stay lighter longer in the evening. Hopefully this is the last cold blast of the year.

Sounds like you have just about everything planned. Looking at the weather saw a funny yellow little symbol for most of the week, just butt freezing cold next 3 nights. The time change will be good.
I guess we are staying home this year. Next big expense is get the survey done to find out how much my neighbor is encroaching and what to do about it. The lights for the Mazda are ordered, the crossmembers are cut one day this week will cut the deck boards still need to get some 2x3 steel to extend the bed I do that once I get the crossmembers on.
Jacob sounds like you have a new revenue stream house flipper or remodeler
