So, my very occasional phantom wipe on start up has turned into full time 30 second delay that want turn off. My question is, what have you guys used for replacement. As common of a problem as this is with this generation truck, is it really smart to put a motorcraft back in it? What replacement brands have y'all had go luck with?
I need to replace mine as well. Seems like it's not too hard to do and the motorcraft part is only $30-35. Even if I have to replace it again in 2 or 3 years it's really not a big deal.
Not sure if this is what your talking about butttt on my '15 there is a "COURTESY WIPE" that can be toggled on/off with the steering wheel controls.
Nope, not the courtesy wipe. I have it turned off. This is just the wiper switch not turning all the way off. When it's in the off position, it still performs the slowest delay wipe.

The multi-malfunction switch is notorious for failing on these trucks and the most common issue is what I and apparently Ron have, where the wipers will not turn all the way off. A couple weeks ago I was at the dealer having the transmission service done on my truck and there were 2 guys in the waiting room both having their switches replaced because their wipers were also doing this.

Not just these trucks. My previous 1995 F150 also had a multifunction switch that needed replacing.
I kept putting up with it acting odd, but when I was unable to use my wipers unless my lights were in high beam I knew I had pushed it a little too far.
man i thought it was just my rig doing the phantom wipe. odd thing is it went away now which kinda scares me now as i dont know if it just will stop working all of a sudden. guess its time to replace. i was just going to order one from rock auto and i think the manufacturer is dorman.
