I am working on installing an aftermarket keyless entry system on my truck.
In my head,
I have the idea of only needing to attach 4 wires, as the whole lock/unlock circuit is connected.
Here is the wiring connector for the driver door unlock/lock switch.
If supplied power to the new junction box with constant 12V
Supplied Ground
And connected the two wires that came off the junction box, one for unlock and one for unlock the circuit should be completed right?
Just wanted to see if anyone else has done it, or if someone whos better than wiring than me has any input.
I am gonna be watching this one, I tried to install aftermarket RKE a few months ago and couldn't get it to work. Eventually it started smoking and melted the wires, I hope somebody has some info on this! I was using the same wires pink and light green and pink and yellow, but the wiring configuration on the key less entry module is where i struggled to get the wiring right.
Tried everything I could and nothing worked, found online that the signal from the box isn’t strong enough for the actuators to work. I am going to pay someone to install everything.
