Bucking jerking in 4wd Auto

I just purchased a 2017 limited expedition and I noticed when I put in 4wd auto on straight road it feels like it jurks a bit or as if slipping on flat smooth surface. Is this normal? I know to expect some drive train noise when engaged in 4w High but wasnt sure if using auto this was normal. I know in 4wh also you shouldn't use on flat service also but thought the auto was good light rain use just to give more traction. Any help in this is greatly appreciated only have 47k on her and want to make sure to get looked at if need be.

Are the tires a matched set with a fairly even amount of wear on them?

Actually they are not matching that's the way dealer gave Iwas going go get full set in a few months . The rears have much more tread seems like they got lazy and just put 2 new rears on and fronts are worn. Is that possibly the issue ?

Yes, when in A4WD the front axle is automatically engaged when there is a speed difference detected between the front and rear driveshafts. Different sized tires can cause this to happen and lock in the front axle to power. Now that it's locked in, the different tire sizes will cause a binding between the front and read axles.

Ok the tire sizes are all correct on all 4 corners and same size. It just appears there is much more tread on the rears and there is 2 different brands of tires. Still think it four cause this?

Yes I do. Sometimes you can solve the issue by swapping the front and rear tires on one side only. That way you have one of each kind on both the front and back which should cause both axles to turn at the same speed.

Agree with everything alloro said. I would just add that swapping tires on one side is a great diagnostic step, but might lead to some uneven performance when braking, accelerating, and in low-traction situations.
