Starter issues

2007 F350 150k

Last few months with this truck have been frusterating, lol

Heres my last problem. Weather a bit colder in the 20's.
I do plug the truck in at night.
Go to start it in the morning and the starter turns over for a couple of seconds then just spins freely. I'm pretty sure its the starter but I'm wondering if there is some sort of safety clutch on it?
Since I'm not sure I wanted to ask before I just assume I need to pick up a starter
thanks

Yeah bendix isn't kicking out all the way and it's slipping and getting kicked back. Starter time.

Here's the hot trick for installing it again with the top bolt.

Installing the top board is easy with a short extension and a piece of tape to hold the bolt in the socket
Then you just threatened in and pull the socket back to remove the tape before you finish talking it down

I think voice recognition wasn't your friend today, Sean. LOL Will admit to having "threatened" a few though, without success.
