I have a 2019 xl with plow package and no insulation. I think it is a good idea to have it so I ordered it from my local dealer. Hopefully it will be in by the end of the week.

Same here, STX with plow package. I think it is mainly to reduce noise and possibly keep the engine warm. I ordered and installed two weeks after delivery.
My 2019 f-450 has it. I have the plow package ....maybe it’s to reduce plow related noise.
for those that have it....do you also have the plow package?
I have a 2017 XL STX with plow package. Yes, I have it. Must have to do with options/packages?? Might have to look at the order this#/window sticker for clues. Hard to believe this wouldn't be on every truck but apparently it's not.

...it's not like they wouldn’t charge us if they included it, the randomness makes no sense...

Can you give us all an update after you install it. I am curious if it will make it quieter in the cab. (i.e. less engine noise)
2019 STX, 6.2, block heater and no hood insulator. Seems there is no common denominator on which trucks get it. I wonder if the F150 line is the same way. My 2019 F150 XL does not have it.

unfortunately I went only a couple of weeks without it and do not recall if there was any difference.
I just picked this up and installed it. Very simple to do. Unplug the wire from the under hood light, push the pins in to the holes. There are 10 plastic push in pins. Reconnect the light and done. I don’t think it will reduce noise much but it certainly provides a finishing touch in looks under the hood. Part numbers are hc3z-16738-a is the hood insulator and the pins are N808842-S you will need 10 of them. My total cost with 6% tax was $108.53 for everything ordered from a local dealer.
Sljb4, thank you for the update. I agree it does look more finished now. I figure the hood insulator should be dang near free since they probably have a pile of them at the factory that didn't get put in. That's a great price, my dealers around me are some of the most expensive in the country when it comes to parts and they won't match prices either. I am forced to order all my parts online, its sad for I would like to keep my business local.
Give us an update after you drive it.
So far there doesn't seem to be any definite reason why one might have it and another doesn't.
That's very strange. Must be luck of the draw. Now I feel cheated not to have one lol. But at least in 18 we still got a transmission dip stick, a hitch reducer sleeve and a rear seat latch, those were discontinued in 19.
