Yes, you are lucky with a late build '02, that design changed happened about 2/3 s the way through the model year production run, so it's iffy if '02s have the increased thread count or not, that's why I generalize and say '03 and up. Be sure to mention that fact when you list it for sale.
ok that makes sense. I believe I read that somewhere years ago. But it’s been so long I don’t remember. LOL. It’s funny you mention selling it because it will probably be up for sale in a couple weeks!
i thought 2000 had non PI heads? From the research I’ve done PI heads were a late 02 release. And the PI heads got the increased threads and a few other improvements like better flow.
my heads are definitely marked as PI, got a nice upclose look when doing my exhaust studs....

I saw you mention selling off the EX and moving to a Ram somewhere around here recently, that's why I mentioned it.
These suckers were in bad shape. Two had gaps over .80 and one was even .88! See below for the others.
God knows how long these were in service for, but I'm hoping with these finds that this is the source of my problem. The next week or so will tell, I guess.
The EX started up very smoothly (yet to drive). It still smells rich on startup, but again, I'm chalking this up to the 5-degree climate we currently have.
More soon.
For those that cannot read my handwriting (written in outside temps!) it goes:
Yep, those are done. That’s why I laugh when people brag how they’ve never done their plugs. When the gap gets too big, the coils have to work harder.
I do mine every 50k.
Those plugs look brutal. Hopefully mine aren't so bad when I finally get a medical release to where I can actually work on my X. Plan is to do plugs, boots and COPs after tax return arrives.

Hopefully not. I don't think they've ever been swapped in the truck's 156k life...
