I have a 1994 F150 and since getting it I've noticed that the power window on the drivers side has an express up or one touch up feature. The thing is it seems to want to keep going up. I hear the motor click and can see the amp gauge move along with the click once the window is already up. If I try and lower the window i have to hit the power window switch down very quickly twice to make the window come down. It doesn't always roll down on the first try. I have to keep hitting the window down button for the drivers side very quickly and given enough tries it will eventually come down. Once all the way down there isn't any motor noise or amp guage movement. If I roll the window up and stop it manually (by clicking down) just shy of being completely up again there isn't any noise or amp gauge movement.
After looking at the window motors I've noticed they've been replaced.
I thought that some of these trucks has an express DOWN feature not up. So why is this one going in the opposite direction?
The left rear window on my '97 crew cab has the same express up "feature", complete with continuing to try to go up after it reaches the top. The thing is, it's not a feature at all, just a stuck switch. On mine after you push the "up" button for that window and then release it, if you lightly push the "down" button (not enough to make it roll the window down, just barely enough to move it) you can hear a "click" as the "up" switch turns off.
I tried buying a new switch from Ford to fix the problem on my truck, but the new switch failed even worse (it wouldn't roll the driver's window up).. So I put the original switch back in and just try to remember to turn it off manually after rolling up the window.
FWIW, these trucks didn't have the express down feature so it can't be that in reverse.
I'll give a new switch a try and see what happens. Glad to know that at least there is someone else with the same issue. Here's an article you find interesting. I know it doesn't pertain to your year.

Actually it does. '97 is the forgotten stepchild of F-series trucks. The F-150 and standard F-250 had switched to the new body style, but the F-250HD, F-350 and F-Superduty were still the old body style. And only the HD trucks came in crew cab back then.
Sorry for the very late response but the switch WAS the problem. It was sticking. A new one and its fixed. I had forgotten which forum I had posted this question on till I found it today. Thank you.
