Anybody recognize this part?
I'm pretty sure this spring came off my 49 F-1 but don't remember where. Does anyone recognize it?

It goes in the emergency brake handle, mine broke this past summer and I had to buy a new one, figuring out how it goes on there is another problem. Hopefully some one can tell us that

It also looks like the hood latch spring. The one that goes through the pin on the safety catch. Tom

I think that's it. I didn't have a stock E-brake handle but I do recall seeing something like that in the hood latch mechanism. Thanks.

Now I'm not sure. I looked up a hood safety latch spring and this is the picture that Mid-50 has for the spring. It is a little different but above that they show another spring that looks like mine as part of a hood latch spring and pin kit.

Okay, I think I have it figured out. The spring I have goes on the handle but the spring they show goes on the safety latch.

It's not the emergency brake handle spring. It looks somewhat similar, but...here's a pic (
2788 ) of it.
Yes...I know the pic says 1953/56, but the spring is
91A-2788 and there's no 1948/52 parts catalog pic
.
