I have a '49 F1 and trying to figure out how the spring is attached to the hood release handle. The kit came with the handle, pin, and spring, but not sure how to install the spring.
When installing the spring like the picture, the handle wants to spring back. Is there something that I need to install on the hood that goes into the end of the handle that acts as a stop?
Yes I think what you mean by the stop is the cam witch opens the latch
The extension on the end of the handle opens the safty catch my pic cuts that off
Also FYI the round piece to the left of the coil spring needs to be high enough and the pin that goes through it needs to be ajusted so that the pin head does not over extend higher than that round piece because if it does sometimes it can lock up and is very hard to get hood open I have had to twist my arm and with a screw driver to release the hood also the rubber bumpers are needed
