I think in our neck of the woods its the drastic change that get's you... It's been around 80 for the past 4 days - tonight a "Norther" is blowing in
from Canada & tomorrow morning it's supposed to be around freezing... They are talking the dreaded Wintry Mix again... It'll never happen.
The ground is too warm. I feel for you guys up North... I'm officially a wuss.

I wasn't complaining about the -1 this morning, just saying. Really. The sun was shining today and it hit 25F, so it was a good day. Supposed to be single digits again tonight. Pray that warmer weather comes sooner rather than later. From some of those winter pictures in the 'vintage pics of days gone by' thread, though, I don't think this is anything new or unusual. The record low in my neighborhood for this day was -20.
I still convert everything over to imperial.

PS I see Bigwin's skills are much superior to mine and he has come through with the pic. Thanks Kevin.
No worries Jim, I`m in the same boat. Thank you for bringing it up and for trying your best!
I'm a wuss when it`s this cold too Ben. This is still a great place to live when it`s not this dang cold.

Were not super cold, but with 3 inches on the ground and another 8 expected by morning just hunker down. Not a lot of snow plows near seal level on the island. But I filled the propane tank for heat and beverage fridge for some quality time in the garage this weekend with the truck.

Sounds like you have the basics covered. Have fun!

We are getting a wintry mix this afternoon in Austin.... technically the forecasters say we are
getting graupel... snow pellets. It's colder here than in Boston or New York - what's up with that.
