Sheet Metal

Picked up a 1954 F100 a couple months back.

We are in the process of starting metal work on it and I am looking for recommendations on vendors for quality panels. (Dennis Carpenter / Midwest Early)

Looking for and entire bed and drivers rear fender.

Thanks in advance!

I got my fenders and complete bed kit from Midwest Early Ford and have nothing bad to say about them. They are only 2 hrs from me and in September offer a 10% off for cash sale. Best time to pick up all the big stuff I needed.

Welcome to FTE the best ford truck forum ever!

It depends where you are located as shipping will cost a lot for these items. I bought a bed for my 54 from Mid-West Early Ford for $600. It was the bed sides, front and rear cross piece only. I live in PA and picked it up from them at the Ford Carlisle show. Go to the various repop catalog stores and see what shows they go to and they will probably bring it there for you to pickup. Besides Mid West, I know Mid Fifty and Carpenter do this. Most of the panels are made by the same place. So look to see who is cheaper.

And now you have to show us pictures of your truck....

I prefer Mar-K beds but the fenders are a crap shoot. I have gotten good repop fenders from lesser known vendors and I have gotten substandard fenders from the better known sources. Good luck...

Looks like a solid truck to me. Don't see much in the way of sheetmetal that needs to be replaced. Like Kevin said, there are people who would love to have that patina and would drive it as is.

I also bought a right front fender from MidWest. It was good.

Thanks for the pictures. I agree with the others, that truck looks pretty good. The rear driver's fender looks good. what are your plans for it? It's your truck and you can do what you want. But BigWin and Charlie know alot about these trucks. Charlie does paint and body work for a living....

Does the truck run and drive?

Not sure if it's the sheet metal up front but it looks like the frame is bent. Good looking sheet metal though..

I bought a new front panel for the bed from Mar-K and rear fenders from Dennis Carpenter. Both worked out well.

I think Midwest attends Turkey Run in Florida (unfortunately it’s already occurred). Would save a bundle on shipping.
