59 bed on a 54 ?

59 bed on a 54 ?
Hi all
I have found a good 59 bed at what sounds like a good price
I seem to remember reading that the later beds had the fender holes in a different place
Dose anyone know if I can use this bed ?

You sure can use the bed. The only difference is the 59 short running boards are mounted to the fenders about 2-3" higher than the way the 53-56 running boards mount.
If you check parts books like dennis carpenter they list all the bed parts for the 53 thru 72 models including fenders.
The orignal 53-56 rear fenders only have a reinforced area for one set of bolt holes and if you look at the 57 and up fenders the reinforced area has two rows of bolt holes. The new fenders have both selections in the reinforced area but the fender itself has not been drilled , you must drill these to match your application.
