Dave - I know that the R3-4 and R32-4 share the same axle sets, just used on reverse sides. Also the 1947 and older tonner (OT5-4) used the same axle. The stub axle and inner main axle shaft were sold as sets when new. You couldn't buy the outer or inner separately. Long ago we had a member with a 54 F-350 MH (M354) that needed axle shafts. We did the research with Chuck and found that the F-350 shared the axle shafts with F-250 (M254) of the same era. They were different part numbers than for our era. Owen Peterson (1952henry) had years prior rescued an M254 axle from a yard and sent the guy the axles.

I've been thinking the same might occur with you and me, but was hoping that you would chase down the machine shop angle first to see if yours can be saved. Finding an R3-4/R32-4 in a yard could be a life's work. I also wonder what the other side set of your axle look like. Might it be that you'll need both sets, or a complete first axle. Stu

I'll keep them in mind. Hang on to them. Maybe hang them on a wall for now and call the garage art. Stu
