How Do You Take Off This Bracket (without breaking it)?
While I was replacing the glowplugs in my truck, I needed to remove two plastic brackets that support the heater hoses on the upper right side of the engine. These two brackets were screwed into two studs holding on the valve cover, and I could not figure out how to unscrew them, as the plastic arms that hold the hoses would hit against the valve cover when trying to unscrew them. I ended up braking the upper plastic part off each one of them, and unscrewing the base, as I could not figure out the right way to get them off. Any advice on how to work with these brackets in the future would be appreciated? Also, of someone knows the part number for these items, I need to buy replacements?
Thanks for the feedback. I tried to pry them up with a screwdriver and a pry-bar before eventually breaking them, and unscrewing the post that forms the base of the bracket itself. They must be tighter than I expected . Lesson learned from my side, and thanks again for all the help
Thanks very much for the link to the part number and a place to purchase it. I am surprised that this is a $28 item, for that amount of money, I think I will just live with the broken brackets
