HELP NEEDED PLEASE- Installing factory optioned trailer system

I have started the install for the trailer tire monitoring and camera system. I began by switching out the 7/4 pin adapter on the rear bumper to the 12/7 pin adapter. The first thing I noticed is that my tailgate won't open. The harness that the 12 pin adapter was plugged into at the factory is left open after I plug in the 12 pin cable to the rear 12/7 pin adapter. I plugged it back in to the truck and the tailgate works again.

Has anyone else installed this yet? Any help at all is appreciated. I'm sorry in advance if I'm using any incorrect terminology. I have the instructions and they don't mention anything about plugging something back into the truck harness. I must be missing something. I'll try to attach pics soon...

I was trying do this without dropping the spare tire. Once I lowered it I found the correct harness. If you are trying to do this then drop the spare and it will be staring right at you.
