What is the symptom of a broke or lose motor mount?
ibhave a 2005 f150 that I’ve been battling since the day I got it.
I recently had a misfire but no cel and thx tho this forum I have no misfire no more. 2days ago I had plugs boots etc changed. Truck is so much better. I stopped and got gas today. And then noticed a vibration when idling.
But with that’s said from day 1 I could always here something bouncing (so to speak ) when I hit a bump.
Friend mentioned today about motor mount. I have personally crawled under truck and yanked pulled rugged on everything. Nothing. All seems right.
But I can still here and feel movement. And I can differently tell it’s comng from the front.
Thx for any help.
It would be a lot more likely that you have a miss fire due to a bad COIL as compared to a broken motor mount... but anything is possible ...... if you think a mount is broken, you need to do a lot more looking.
Do you feel the vibration when the truck is idling? How about when you rev the engine? If you have a broken motor mount you'll see the motor torque to one side significantly when revving it quickly.
If you only feel the "rattle" when hitting bumps and/or driving it maybe suspension related. The bushings on my 04's upper control arms are shot, and the whole front end rattles and shimmys when hitting any kind of bump or pothole.
Thx guys for the reply.
I just had truck tuned up.
Yes im not ruling out a bad part being installed but the feeling I encountered happened well before the truck started misfiring etc.
even after the mis idling was still there. Maybe time for new fuel filter?
