(another) broken motor mount

I know a lot of you guys are running a lot more power than I've got, so I'm sure you've run into this. I have a warmed over 360, and I have just broken another motor mount. I replaced both of them about 4 yrs/10k miles ago. I didn't think I worked my truck that hard, but I do haul a car trailer now and then. What can I do to keep vibration to a minimum, but prevent another broken mount? I am thinking about chaining down the left side. Will this increase vibration considerably?

Matt, I used to break motor mounts in my Falcon Sprint but that was due to power shifting. I ended up putting a chain on the left side from the front of the head down to the frame. It was a lot cheaper than a strap or cable setup and worked just fine. As far as vibration, when the engine is idling or cruising there should be a little slack in the chain to let the mounts do their job. When you get on it the slack will be taken up by the motor torqueing over and the vibration is really not that noticeable. Check the chain every now and then for stretching and wear between the links. Also buy some quality motor mounts and check the trans. mount too.
