I like my Gen Y hitch. Went with the Mega Duty 16K 7.5 inch drop, but could have gotten away with the 5inch drop. Main reason I got it was for the pintle hook attachment.
I just went thru the same thing with my 19 250 4dr 6.9 bed. I have 4 trailers the 18' 6000lb snowmobile trailer being the lowest hitch hight with a 2" ball. The others are 2 5/16" ***** 10000lb dump, 14000lb equipment and a 12000lb car trailer. I went with the Fastway 18000lb aluminum hitch ball, 6 inch drop and has both 2" and 2 5/16" *****. The snowmobile trailer I have towed and still had 1 hole left to lower the ball hight, car trailer the same.
My 2019 with 10K tow package is 25" to the top of the receiver with no load. My 31' TT is exactly 25" to the coupler with the trailer level . Assuming the trailer will only sag the truck about an inch (around 700-800 lbs tongue weight without WDH) a hitch height of about zero would be good for my trailer and I need to adjust my Equilizer WDH accordingly. However, I also got a 7" B&W adjustable with two ***** for the possibility of needing something lower when towing other utility trailers, most of which were around 13" to the coupler. The B&W is a 2.5" shank so I don't need the adaptor with it where I do with my 2" Equalizer hitch.
I have the B&W 3 way on mine. 9" drop, I have a couple trailers that sit really low so I use it on the lowest drop setting for those, but for my boat I use it in the rise position.
One thing to note, the 9" drop is a 9.5" rise. If you flip it to the rise position it will clear and not hit the tailgate when you put the tailgate in the down position. I keep mine like this most of the time.
I bought an 8 in drop, dual ball from husky rated at 17k w 2.5 shank. I still need to load my car trailer to check it out. Going from 2012 dually to 2018 dually.
My truck is a 2021 F250 xlt 4x4 with 7.3 gas.
stock suspension and 35x12.50 Toyo’s on stock rims.
I went with the the weigh safe 8” drop. My dad has the 10” drop and I felt like that was too much. I could have gotten the 6” drop, but felt like 8” would be useful if I ever tow a small utility trailer with a lawn mower or something.
Most of the time I’m towing 14000# dump trailers.
The hitch came with a 2-5/16 and a 2” ball. I purchased an additional 1-7/8 ball just in case I need it.
The shank is 2.5” and solid aluminum, not hollow in the middle.
It’s a thing of beauty. When not in use, I had it on display in our living room until my wife made me move it. Now it lives perfectly under my back seat. I notched the plastic a little bit in the under seat cargo area, so it will sit a little lower and allow my seat to come down all the way.
the ***** and lockable pins are kept in a craftsman toolbox from Lowe’s that fits absolutely wonderful under the seat too. Just had to snip off the useless padlock tab on the toolbox. The other toolbox has trailer stuff. Grease gun, tire plug, etc.
I went with the weigh safe because our dump trailers are loaded by construction workers who don’t think about where the weight is in the trailer. They just throw their Sheetrock, lumber, whatever in there and I haul it away when it’s full. I wanted to make sure I had enough tongue weight when towing to the dump.
I’m still thinking I could have lived with the 6”. But the 8” is good too.

Reason: Typo
Nice job with the organization red beard.
I like the weigh safe ball mount. I’m on the fence about the style with the scale or a fixed ball.
Did you go 3” or using a receiver sleeve?

Thanks. It’s the 2.5” shaft which fits into my receiver perfectly. I think the F350’s come with a 3” receiver.
