Hey guys. Hoping your holidays are good and Merry Christmas !
I'm experiencing a problem with my truck. After a cold start up, the problem I'm having is when driving down the road I am experiencing a sort of power loss at normal speed limit speeds. Kind of like a light loping or missing feeling from the engine. The other day, I drove a slight incline before a turn and the engine went to no power for a second and I heard what I think was all of the injectors buzzing at once. It was weird.
I think I have another IDM on it's way out. Checked codes this afternoon and no dice. I did not check the CPM harness but, will tomorrow. The symptoms I had from the last CPM failure was engine shutoff on downgrades or at times, on deceleration and when it finally failed, the engine died, cranked, no start and white smoke. Nothing like what is going on now.
Are you sure it's not the exhaust back pressure valve closing which would be normal when cold? It will make a loud hissing type sound with lack of power
Did you check your cps? My 94.5 would have like a split second where it would die every now and then, new cps fixed it, I didnt hear any buzzing though

I agree, sounds like the EBPV closing.

What did you remove / install, maybe a new pedestal and EBPV valve delete kit? Your description sounds perfect for the valve still closing when cold, normal.
Installed the pedestal and EBPV valve delete kit with the turbo. It stumbled again today under 3/4 load. No buzzing though. Starting to think it is the HPOP. Fresh oil change 300 miles ago and full with the dipstick. Just wish it would throw a code. I'm going to swap the CPS asap.
hows the fuel filter & little screen in side of fuel bowl. Maybe read some live data on the HPOP and IPR with the Torque app, Forscan or similar and see if your numbers are right.
Theres lot of info on this site to get you going with the Torque pro app for cell phones. Or you could try the free program Forscan for windows thats Ford specific for a laptop. Forscan is a free download. Other more expensive apps out there like auto enginuity* that do much more. Torque lets you monitor several sensors on our obs trucks. Do a search and you will find what you need on this site. I put Torque pro on a cheap amazon tablet and it works good. The readings you get from Torque will go a long way in diagnosing your truck issues.
