php tuning problem

I recently purchased a hydra programmer and down loaded the standard php tunes. My truck is all stock except for 6637 and a 5in exhaust, 276K miles, it seems to run great without any issues with factory calibrations. the problem i am having is with the php tunes. i have all three tow tunes and the three performance tunes. and all do the same thing. When accelerate rpms up 2000+ and them let off quickly the truck seems to want to die, but them comes back on and romps a couple times, them idles normal. i have torque pro and watch Icp,Ipr, and Injpw they all look be good,.. this happens with every tune except when running in factory settings. not sure if its a programming or truck issue, or a combination.

Check that the chip is making good contact, my truck developed similar symptoms once & actually stalled a couple of times. The chip was loose (I have a DP chip with the bluetooth module hanging off it too) a couple of strategically place zip ties now prevent any movement.

I'll take a closer look at that thank you I was trying to be extra careful about getting the silicone off so not to damage the contacts maybe i didn't get it all off. Thanks

You likely left a bit of silicone crud on the PCM contacts. I had a similar experience, but more severe. I'd have to tap the pcm box with my boot to get the truck restarted. The wait to start light was my indicator for if it was going to be able to start or not. It sure made for an interesting 10 miles home, with the hazard lights being my response to every and any bump in the road.

dont worry if you see a few little spots where you cleaned just a little too deep. As long as this isn't too excessive, it wont cause issues. It's better than not cleaning them enough. Worst case, re-tinning the contacts is easy enough, even without soldering experience. The key is using some flux for easy solder flow.

I used a wooden toothpick and some rubbing alcohol to clean the contacts on my PCM.

Just a thought.

Thank for the replys, so I took ecu back out and cleaned it again using a tooth pick and went over every contact really well and I am still having the same issue. I'm going to pull it out again just to be sure but if there are any other thoughts I would appreciate them.
