Exclamation Please help, installed PHP Pheonix chip and truck dies

I installed the chip and was very very careful about cleaning the connector very well. I followed the instructions and turned the key on, got the wait to start light like normal, which the directions say is good, so I crank the truck. It fires right up, then dies after about 10 seconds. I start it again, no problem, and idles fine this time. Then I decide to head down the road for a test run and I can't get out of the driveway before it dies again. I start it back up, again no problem. I run through the switch positions and get the <ACRONYM title="Revolutions per Minute">rpm</ACRONYM> jump that I have read is normal, but everytime I come back to stock the truck dies. SO I put the chip in 25T to see if it will run that way, and it does, for a few seconds then dies again. I manage to limp it back to the house but by this point the <ACRONYM title="Check Engine Light (Same as MIL)">CEL</ACRONYM> is on and it stayed on even after another restart.

HELP!

You did have the keys OUT of the ignition while messing with the PCM?

I would take the chip off and drive the truck to make sure it is not something else. Then make sure the pins are clean, install the chip back on and give it another try. Have you called Bill yet??

Trying to get in touch with them. Thats a good idea, Rick, but the truck ran fine last night before I pulled the PCM.

Removed the chip, drove down the road and back and the truck ran fine. So its got something to do with the chip or connection.

Check the cleaning of the pins on the PCM. Make sure the wire connections are on right. I really don't know how this chip works, I have a DP, but the connection need to be good a tight. Most of the problems with installing the chips are the cleaning of the pins.

Must've been the connection. I just took it apart and put it back together and it seems to be working fine now. Thanks for the help, Rick!

Just read your post on our forum... glad to see you're up and running. Regarding shifting, that's something that can always be tweaked.

This is our scheduled No Phones Week (explanation is on the last entry on our NEWS page), so it'll be next to impossible to get through to us on the phone -- doesn't mean we're not glued to our desks... just gives us some time to get caught up on orders, e-mails, PMs, etc. Post in the same thread on the PHP forum or PM me over on our forum if you'd like Bill to give you a shout to discuss your shifting issue.

Thanks for the help y'all. The tunes are great. I don't have anything to compare them to, but I am loving my NEW truck! I will give specifics when I have had more time to drive it, right now I have only been like 5 miles.

Corey, I knew y'all were not answering calls this week, so I understand. Thanks for contacting me here and in your forum. Sorry for the false alarm!
