460 build advice....
So I have put together a bit of a Frankenstein supercab. It started life as a 2wd and I converted it to 4wd. 4.56 axle gears, with 37” tires. I have a 700r4 and the 460. I’m lookin to build the motor for towing and would like it to run on our crappy California gas, preferably not 93 octane. The motor currently has the edlebrock performer package intake and 750 carb and I have headers and dual 3” exhaust. What’s going to give me “decent” mileage but have some power and live on our crappy gas? I don’t want to go scrounging for heads that are hard to find so what aluminum head is worth looking at? 521 stroker worth it? Thanks so much.

Living in Californistan is going to limit your options. Also, what year is your truck? Does it get smogged?
Once we know this, we'll chime in with options. Fair warning, if your truck does get smogged, not much you can do and still pass emissions.
