Ok, I know this is a truck site but I am getting a 76' Mark IV from my grandpa. It's got the 460 in it. It hasn't been driven in probably 15 years but gramps always fires it up about once a month to keep it from dryin up. Anyways it needs a carb, or carb work form what he tells me, and I was wondering what a good carb would be. I'm leaning toward eddelbrock as I know many people that have had good luck with them. The motor is rated at only 220 HP due to low compression heads from that year, I believe 8:1. I also plan to eventually get heads, cam, intake manifold and an exhaust but it will be one at a time as I can afford it. I am thinkig that I would like to go with the eddelbrock performer package and keep my power from idle to 5500 RPM as the car has either 2.75's or 3.00's in the axels, probably the 2.75's. Basically I would like any ideas or suggestions of good parts for it. I'm not worried about gas mileage as it is a 460 and will not be my daily driver. Like I said, I'm kinda leaning towards eddelbrock right now but I don't really have any personal experience with them, so if there is something better let me know, I want to do this right. Thanks for any input. I will get the car in Septermber.
